Most people still don’t believe that it’s possible to find a decent person on the Internet. These people are partly right: there is no guarantee that you won’t be cheated or fooled or tricked. On the other hand it’s proved that those people who find their darlings on the Internet live together happily ever after. Sociologists provide us with some interesting facts: those people who met each other on dating sites file for divorce 25% more seldom than those who met in real life.
Specialists from Chicago University have analyzed acquaintance stories of more than 20,000 people that got officially married in 2005 – 2012. All these people have filled in the questionnaires and answered a couple of questions. About a third of the people answered that they have found their second best half on the Internet – in social networks or dating sites. About 50 % of them registered with the aim of creating a family, other 50 % met each other on the Internet by chance but ended up getting married anyway. Most people claimed to be happy. You can even check if it’s true by your own experience on one of the UK dating sites.
Specialists say that marriages that began on the Internet have turned out to be a lot more successful than those with people who met each other in a club, restaurant or in the street. By the way the most unstable marriages are between coworkers and people who met each other in bars. Specialists say that on the Internet people get very profound information about their potential partners before meeting them. People consider and get to know their partners better before actually meeting them. And the chances of meeting are high for couples with similar interests. And before meeting each other in reality they communicate a lot on the Internet, thus they can know their partner’s behavior in different situations beforehand. And that makes their choice purposeful.
